Used to determine the compacting factor of concrete of low, medium, and high workability.
The apparatus consists of two conical hoppers attached above a cylinder, that are aligned on a robust steel frame.
Each hopper is equipped with a hinge for a Quick Release mechanism.
The compacting factor is the ratio between the weight of the concrete, which is partially compacted in the cone, to the weight of the fully compacted concrete in the cylinder.
Both the hoppers and cylinder are of rigid construction and made of metal not readily attacked by cement paste.
